Woman injured after tow truck hits I-95 overpass

The New Jersey State Police reported a July 22 accident on I-95 that left one woman in stable condition after suffering serious injuries. The 1:30 p.m. collision beneath the Princeton Pike overpass in Lawrence Township involved a heavy-duty tow truck, the construction vehicle it was carrying and the injured woman who was driving a car near the truck.

Car hits building in New Jersey, killing 1 and injuring 2

A Honda sedan crashed into a building in Ridgefield around 1:30 a.m. on July 24, killing one occupant of the vehicle and seriously injuring the driver and another passenger. All three victims were taken to the hospital where one passenger, a 20-year-old man, was declared dead.

Two-vehicle accident kills motorcyclist

At 1 a.m. on July 12, a two-vehicle accident in front of a Wawa convenience store in Burlington Township ended the life of a motorcyclist. The police investigation of the incident was still ongoing over 12 hours after the crash, and no charges had been filed.

New Jersey man dies after car submerged in lake

A New Jersey man died in a collision in Lawrence that sent his car into a lake on July 17. Police filed charges against the driver of the dump truck involved in the commercial vehicle accident the following day. Police charged the man with driving while intoxicated at that time, but that charge may be dismissed once they receive the results of a toxicology test.

New Jersey maintenance worker dies in Turnpike accident

State police say that a maintenance employee died in the northbound lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike on July 10 while removing a piece of tire from the highway. The traffic accident occurred about 10:30 a.m. in Kearny.

Man dies in sugar plant 13 days after removal of safety device

A New Jersey man died while working as a temporary employee at a sugar plant in Pennsylvania. Before his death, the 50-year-old man had been digging in clumpy sugar that was clogging a hopper. According to the warehouse manager, he had made repeated complaints to upper management about the potential dangers workers faced while unclogging the sugar hopper.

1-vehicle crash leaves 3 people dead in New Jersey

A one-vehicle crash near the Lincoln Tunnel left three people dead in North Bergen on July 3. The fatal collision occurred at about 5:40 a.m. while the driver was trying to merge onto Route 495 by using a Route 3 East ramp. That accident caused the closure of all three lanes of the ramp for over two hours and led to traffic delays.

Guilty plea from bus driver in airport hit-and-run

On the morning of Nov. 13, 2012, the body of a New Jersey man, 61, was discovered at a lot in Newark Liberty International Airport with tire tracks providing evidence of his cause of death. A bus driver who was arrested in April 2013 in connection with the accident pleaded guilty on July 1 to leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death. The plea agreement removed a lesser included offense of endangering an injured victim, and the prosecution's recommendation for sentencing, which would be finalized at a hearing on Sept. 9, was a 364-day stay in jail.

New Jersey man critically injured in motorcycle wreck

On June 22, a 37-year-old man was hospitalized after he was involved in a motorcycle accident in Gloucester County, authorities reported. New Jersey State Police stated that the incident transpired at the intersection of Franklinville Road and Route 45 in South Harrison Township shortly after 11 a.m.
