New Jersey man killed in construction-site collapse

According to a recent report, a New Jersey man was killed in a construction accident in Manhattan on Sept. 23 at around 1:30 p.m. The 27-year-old Jersey City man was reportedly crushed to death after an 8,000-pound concrete slab fell on top of him. The FDNY confirmed initial reports stating that the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

New Jersey woman in critical condition after pedestrian accident

A Sept. 13 accident left a 55-year-old pedestrian in critical condition, according to Clark police. The 3 p.m. incident reportedly occurred at the intersection of Raritan Road and Lexington Boulevard.

Teen pleads not guilty to death by auto charges

A high school senior appeared in a New Jersey courtroom on Sept. 17 to face charges stemming from a single-car accident that claimed the lives of two teenagers. The 17-year-old boy's attorney entered not guilty pleas to charges including two counts of death by auto in the second degree. The judge ordered that the boy continue to attend therapy sessions and refrain from operating a motor vehicle. The car accident took place in Randolph Township on July 26 at approximately 1:35 p.m.

Wrong-way New Jersey driver critically injures woman

An accident on Route 565 Sept. 4 left a 42-year-old Sussex woman critically injured when her car was hit by a wrong-way driver. According to Sussex County authorities, the section of the roadway where the accident took place lacks road stripes and is in the process of being resurfaced. An investigation into the cause of the accident is still ongoing, and no charges had yet been filed two days after the crash.

Lawsuit to follow fatal airport parking lot accident

Around 4 a.m. in November 2012, a 61-year-old man was in a parking lot at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey. At the same time, a driver for Academy Bus Lines was preparing for his day of transporting passengers between various parking lots and airport terminals. On his way through one parking lot, the bus driver reportedly struck and ran over the victim.

Teenager dies in New Jersey chain-reaction crash

A driver crossed the centerline of a Hamilton Township road and triggered a fatal chain-reaction crash around 8:45 a.m. on Aug. 30. A 14-year-old Linwood girl who had been traveling with four other girls en route to a charity soccer game suffered critical injuries in the crash. All five girls were members of the soccer team at Mainland Regional High School. The other girls and the driver of a second truck were also hurt in the crash but soon released from medical care.

Several people and organizations face suit after New Jersey crash

An alleged drunk driver and several other entities have been named as defendants in a civil suit regarding a hit-and-run crash in 2010. The accident reportedly occurred when the driver failed to stop for nine pedestrians; one lawyer is filing this suit for a family of three who suffered serious injuries. The crash happened on Route 210 South after a soccer game at the New Meadowlands Stadium between Mexico and Ecuador. The defendants listed in the suit include the stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority and Major League Soccer.

Interstate accident kills 3

On Aug. 27, a dump truck traveling east on Interstate 280 in New Jersey crashed into several other vehicles, one of which burst into flames, killing all three occupants. According to police, the accident happened around 10:30a.m in East Orange.

New Jersey truck accident kills 3, injures 4

A fiery crash killed three people and injured four others on Interstate 280 in East Orange. The accident involved a tractor-trailer truck that was hauling garbage and five other passenger vehicles. It happened at about 10:30 a.m. on August 27 in the eastbound lanes.
