Claimants, also referred to as Petitioners, are entitled to a variety of benefits, including temporary wage loss, payment for medical treatment and permanent/partial disability. Representation of claimants is on a contingent fee basis, the percentage being restricted by statute. Costs and expenses to investigate the claim, to obtain medical records and have claimants evaluated for disability is advanced by the office. If no recovery is obtained for a claimant, no fee or cost reimbursement is required. Claimants that require court appearances will be represented by an experienced attorney. Most injuries occurring on the job or offsite while a claimant is engaged in activity on behalf of the employer are compensable.
