Dog bite information and concerns

Statistics indicate that approximately 4.5 million individuals are bitten in the United States each year with about half of these incidents involving children. Up to 20 percent of these incidents are so severe that medical treatment is necessary, and reconstructive surgery may be needed in thousands of cases.

Electrical worker critically injured by tractor-trailer

A woman driving a tractor-trailer collided with a bucket truck in New Jersey shortly after 11 a.m. on Aug. 19. An electrical worker for the City of Camden's Electrical Bureau who was performing traffic light repairs from the bucket suffered critical injuries and was rushed to Cooper University Hospital following the collision.

3 people killed and 1 seriously injured in New Jersey crash

On Aug. 19, a fatal vehicle accident occurred in Freehold Township in which three people were killed and a fourth person was seriously injured. The accident took place on a section of Kozloski Road that residents of the area report is dangerously prone to car accidents because there is no median area or barriers. It is a 'fast road" according to one resident.

New Jersey man pleads not guilty in fatal farmers' market crash

On Aug. 13, a 48-year-old man who allegedly dragged a woman with his vehicle for three blocks entered a not guilty plea to charges of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and vehicular homicide. The fatal incident reportedly occurred at a farmers' market in Hawthorne on Aug. 10.

New Jersey head-on collision kills 1, injures 3

One person died, and three suffered injuries in a New Jersey collision on Aug. 8. Emergency responders had to cut the roof off one of the vehicles involved to extricate the deceased victim of the car accident. Police declined to release the identities of the man who died and the woman who was riding with him.

Severe blast in New Jersey plant injures 2 workers

Authorities are investigating the cause of a huge explosion that occurred at Pharmachem Laboratories in Totowa shortly before dark on Aug. 2. Two workers were slightly injured in the violent blast, which almost completely destroyed the facility.

New Jersey 2-car accident kills 2, injures 4

Two women were killed and a married couple and their two children were injured in a two-vehicle collision in New Jersey on July 26. The car accident occurred about 2:45 p.m. when the deceased victims' Saturn sedan drifted into the center lane of the Garden State Parkway in Stafford Township and struck the Ford pickup truck that was carrying the family. The force of the impact sent both vehicles off the left side of the roadway.
